Broke but workin’ it!

My name is Shannon I am a 29 year old woman.  I am an author, budding geek, reader and I confess a total beauty addict.

Since a very young age I have had an intense interest in all things beauty.  From the tips of my hair to my toes.  As I’ve gotten older I’ve discovered that being fabulous on a budget frankly can suck.  I’ve also found that a lot of the beauty “secrets” pro’s and celebrities endorse are just impossible to do at home.  And all too often no one tells you what to do when you make an oops, or tells you how to keep up a look on a budget, how to keep it going without going broke.

This isn’t only about looking good.  It’s about self care.  It’s about learning what it takes for your body to feel good, for your hair to look good, for your overall sense of your own beauty and emotional well being.

I will be very honest with you dear reader, I have made a lot of beauty mistakes.  I am not always great at taking care of myself and often it shows.  I’ve never been to beauty school and going to a pro is just out of my budget.

So here we are.

It’s my sincere hope that through this blog I will first and foremost make sure that I am taking care of myself.  Secondly I hope to inspire, make you laugh, help you out and maybe along the  way teach something.
